New glowing dye could give surgeons instant cancer spread map

NCT ID NCT07154563

Summary

This study is testing a new imaging technique to help surgeons see if breast cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes during surgery. Doctors apply a special fluorescent dye to the removed lymph node tissue and use a special camera to see if cancer cells are present. The goal is to give surgeons a faster, more accurate picture during the operation to help them decide how much tissue to remove, potentially reducing side effects.
