New approach to lymph node surgery could reduce unnecessary procedures
NCT ID NCT05763641
Summary
This study is testing a more targeted approach to lymph node removal in patients with advanced breast cancer who have received chemotherapy before surgery. Researchers want to see if removing only specific marked lymph nodes (instead of many) can accurately determine whether cancer remains. The study involves 162 participants and aims to validate this targeted method to potentially reduce unnecessary lymph node removal and its side effects.
