Scientists hunt dormant cancer cells to stop breast Cancer's return
NCT ID NCT04568616
Summary
This study is testing a hormone therapy drug called letrozole given before surgery to post-menopausal women with early-stage, estrogen-positive breast cancer. Researchers want to understand how some cancer cells survive this treatment and stay hidden in the body, which can lead to cancer coming back years later. By comparing tumor samples before and after treatment, they hope to find better ways to eliminate these lingering cells and prevent recurrence.
