Could adding vorinostat to chemo shrink breast tumors better before surgery?

NCT ID NCT00616967

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether adding a drug called vorinostat to standard chemotherapy (carboplatin and nab-paclitaxel) before surgery helps shrink tumors more in women with HER2-negative breast cancer. About 68 women took part. The goal was to see if the combination leads to no cancer left in the breast or lymph nodes at the time of surgery, potentially allowing for less tissue removal.
