Antibiotic wash for breast implants could cut surgery failures
NCT ID NCT04731025
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether rinsing breast implants with a mix of three antibiotics before placing them can reduce the chance of the implant being removed later. About 1,000 women having breast reconstruction after cancer will be randomly assigned to get the antibiotic rinse or a placebo. The goal is to see if this simple step can prevent infections and other problems that lead to implant loss.
