New hope for kids with tough brain tumors: targeted treatment trial

NCT ID NCT05956821

Summary

This study is testing a new way to deliver cancer drugs directly to the brain for children and young adults whose brain tumors have come back or haven't responded to standard treatments. Doctors use a tiny catheter to deliver two existing drugs (cetuximab and bevacizumab) precisely to the tumor area through an artery, aiming to increase effectiveness while reducing side effects. The trial will first check if this repeated monthly treatment is safe, and then see how well it works at controlling tumor growth and improving survival.
