New MRI method maps brain tumor acidity to guide treatment

NCT ID NCT05464992

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is testing a new MRI technique called CEST that can measure the acidity (pH) inside brain tumors like gliomas and metastases. Researchers will scan 800 patients to see if pH levels can help predict where tumors might come back and how long patients survive. The goal is to gather knowledge, not to treat the disease directly.
