Scientists scan brains to understand social pain in BPD

NCT ID NCT07428200

Summary

This study aims to understand how the brains of people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) process feelings of social exclusion. Researchers will use EEG brain scans while participants play a virtual ball-tossing game designed to trigger social pain. The study compares 62 adults with BPD to healthy volunteers to identify differences in brain activity patterns during social rejection.
