Summary
This study aimed to understand how meditation and hypnosis affect our brain's sense of self. Researchers used brain scans (fMRI) on 100 healthy volunteers while they practiced mindfulness and hypnosis techniques. The goal was to identify which brain areas become active during these altered states of consciousness and how they relate to changes in self-awareness.
