Scientists probe brain for clues to opioid addiction risk

NCT ID NCT06355778

Summary

This study aims to understand how brain function related to learning and memory might connect adverse childhood experiences to symptoms of opioid use disorder. Researchers will compare brain scans and memory task performance across three groups: people with opioid use disorder on medication, people taking the same medication for pain, and healthy adults. The goal is to identify brain-based differences that could help explain risk factors for addiction.
