Scientists scan brains to unlock mystery of Parkinson's depression

NCT ID NCT06402955

Summary

This study aims to understand how depression affects the brain in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will use PET and MRI scans to compare brain activity in four groups: people with Parkinson's and depression, Parkinson's without depression, depression alone, and healthy individuals. A small, optional part of the study will test if a single dose of ketamine can change brain activity and improve depression symptoms in some participants.
