Scientists scan brains to unlock why anxiety and depression overlap

NCT ID NCT06004115

Summary

This study aims to understand how the brain processes fear and threat in people with depression, anxiety, or both. Researchers will give 165 participants a single dose of an anxiety medication (or a placebo) and use brain scans and eye-blink tests to measure their fear responses. The goal is to learn if the brain works differently when these conditions occur together, which could help design better future treatments.
