Zapping the brain to boost memory: small trial shows promise
NCT ID NCT04246164
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a combination of gentle brain stimulation (called HD-tDCS) and computer-based memory exercises could improve thinking skills in people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Eight participants completed 15 sessions over three months. The main goal was to see if the approach was practical and well-tolerated, not to prove it works. Results will help design larger studies.
