What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) using theta burst stimulation (continuous or intermittent) or a sham device

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could reveal how TMS changes brain activity related to learning and decision-making, potentially guiding future treatments for substance use disorder.

What could go wrong

This is a very early, small study in healthy volunteers, not patients. It focuses on basic brain function, not treatment. Results may not translate to clinical benefits.
