Magnetic pulses to the brain: can they rewire anxiety?

NCT ID NCT04824105

Summary

This study aims to understand how a non-invasive brain stimulation device (rTMS) might change how people with anxiety disorders react to and cope with fearful situations. Researchers are recruiting 80 adults currently in treatment for anxiety to measure brain activity, heart rate, and skin responses during computer tasks before and after receiving the stimulation. The goal is to gather knowledge about anxiety mechanisms to potentially improve future treatments, but this is not a treatment study itself.
