First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether a safe, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS, combined with standard cognitive therapy, can improve memory and thinking in people who recently had a stroke. Researchers will enroll 70 adults aged 18-90 who had a stroke within the past month and now have trouble with cognition. Participants will receive either real or fake tDCS during cognitive training sessions to see if the combination leads to better mental function.
