Magnetic pulses target suicidal thoughts in groundbreaking depression trial

NCT ID NCT05377177

Summary

This study tests whether magnetic stimulation applied to both sides of the brain works better than stimulation on just the left side for reducing suicidal thoughts in people with treatment-resistant depression. Researchers will enroll 76 adults who still have suicidal thoughts despite trying at least two antidepressant medications. The study also aims to understand how brain activity changes during this non-invasive treatment.
