Zap to remember? brain stimulation trial aims to boost fading memories

NCT ID NCT04504630

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle, non-invasive form of brain stimulation could improve memory in older adults. It focused on people with mild memory problems (amnestic mild cognitive impairment) who also had a past traumatic brain injury. Participants received 10 sessions of stimulation targeting a specific brain area, with researchers checking if it helped them remember words and pictures better, both right after treatment and three months later.
