First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study explores why people with depression struggle with difficult choices. Researchers will use brain stimulation (TMS or TI) while 500 participants, including those with depression and healthy volunteers, play game-like tasks. The goal is to understand how brain regions like the cingulate cortex affect motivation and effort-based decisions, not to treat depression directly.
