Brain scans may predict therapy success for common mental health conditions

NCT ID NCT04191811

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is looking at whether brain scans can help predict how well people with depression, insomnia, or social anxiety will respond to internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT). Researchers will measure brain activity patterns in 150 patients and 75 healthy volunteers before treatment. The goal is to see if these brain measurements are better at predicting treatment success than patient questionnaires alone, which could help doctors recommend the most effective treatments earlier.
