First seen Dec 09, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special type of brain scan (resting state fMRI) could help doctors better understand and predict recovery in patients with disorders of consciousness, such as coma. Nine adults with these conditions were enrolled. The goal was to see if the scans could reveal hidden signs of brain recovery not visible through standard bedside exams.
