Can soul food fight heart disease and memory loss? new diet study investigates

NCT ID NCT05414682

Summary

This study tested whether a culturally adapted 'brain healthy' soul food diet was practical and acceptable for older African Americans. The 29 participants followed the diet for 12 weeks, attending cooking classes and receiving coaching calls. Researchers measured changes in weight, heart health markers, and thinking skills to see if a larger future trial would be worthwhile.
