NCT ID NCT04282317
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study uses MRI scans to look at the brain and upper digestive tract in people with gastroparesis and healthy volunteers. The goal is to better understand how the brain and gut interact in this condition. Researchers will compare stomach movements before and after meals. This is an observational study, not a treatment trial.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to better non-invasive imaging methods to understand and diagnose gastroparesis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage observational study with only 31 participants, so results may not apply widely. It does not test a treatment.
