Brain scans reveal how insomnia therapy may rewire the mind
NCT ID NCT04024787
First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at how chronic insomnia affects brain function during memory and emotional tasks. Researchers will use brain scans to compare people with insomnia to good sleepers, and then see if cognitive-behavioral therapy (a type of talk therapy for sleep) can normalize brain activity. The goal is to understand the brain basis of daytime struggles in insomnia, not to cure the condition.
