Scientists scan brains to unlock mystery of Post-Surgery confusion

NCT ID NCT04244162

Summary

This study aimed to understand why some patients with sleep apnea develop confusion or memory problems after surgery. Researchers followed 32 patients with moderate-to-severe sleep apnea, performing brain scans and memory tests before and after their operations. They also collected blood samples to look for signs of inflammation that might be linked to these cognitive changes.
