New brain cancer fight: adding Whole-Brain radiation to stop tumor return

NCT ID NCT03746080

Summary

This study tested whether adding whole-brain radiation therapy and a drug called plerixafor to the standard treatment could better control an aggressive type of brain tumor called glioblastoma (GBM). It involved 21 adults who had recently been diagnosed and had surgery. The main goal was to see if this combination could keep the cancer from getting worse for at least six months after starting treatment.
