Fungal infection drug tested as potential brain tumor fighter

NCT ID NCT04825275

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested whether a common antifungal drug called posaconazole can get into brain tumors at high enough levels to potentially stop cancer cells from growing. Researchers gave the drug to a few adults with a type of aggressive brain cancer before their scheduled surgery. They then used special catheters to measure how much of the drug reached the tumor, hoping to learn if it should be studied further as a treatment.
