Scientists test if brain tumor drug gets where it needs to go

NCT ID NCT04424966

Summary

This early study aimed to see if an oral drug called infigratinib could reach brain tumors in patients with a specific genetic change. A small group of adults with recurrent high-grade glioma took the drug before their scheduled tumor removal surgery. Researchers then measured how much of the drug was present in the tumor tissue, blood, and spinal fluid collected during the operation to understand if it penetrates the brain effectively.
