Radiation implants take aim at inoperable kidney cancers

NCT ID NCT04473781

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase study tests a type of internal radiation called brachytherapy for people with large kidney tumors (4-10 cm) that cannot be removed by surgery or ablation. A small radiation source is placed directly into the tumor to kill cancer cells. The goal is to see if this treatment is safe and can slow tumor growth, reducing the risk of cancer spread. About 17 participants will be enrolled.
