First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests a new method to treat atrial fibrillation (a common heart rhythm problem) during open-heart surgery. About 200 adults having heart surgery will receive a special procedure that isolates the pulmonary veins using a device called GeminiS. The goal is to see if this reduces irregular heartbeats one year after surgery, offering a simpler alternative to the standard MAZE procedure.
