NCT ID NCT07518472
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding a simple breathing technique called 'box breathing' to a short, 3-week pulmonary rehab program can reduce shortness of breath and improve physical function in people with mild COPD. Forty adults aged 40-65 will participate. The goal is to see if this combination helps them breathe easier and move better in daily life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- box breathing technique plus short-term pulmonary rehabilitation
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to ease breathlessness and improve daily activity for people with mild COPD.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants over 3 weeks. Results may not apply to all COPD stages, and the breathing technique may not add much benefit beyond standard rehab.
