New hope for cancer survivors struggling with debilitating bowel issues

NCT ID NCT07219745

Summary

This small pilot study aims to see if a larger trial is feasible to test a daily irrigation procedure for people suffering from severe bowel problems after rectal cancer surgery. The procedure, called transanal irrigation, involves using water to help empty the bowel on a schedule. Researchers want to see if this helps 60 participants gain more control over their bowel movements and improve their quality of life in the first year after their operation.
