NCT ID NCT07149688
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will follow 30,000 people aged 60 and older in rural China for up to 10 years. Researchers want to see if a comprehensive program—including medication, lifestyle changes, health education, and regular check-ups with a 7-day heart monitor—can lower the number of heart attacks, strokes, and deaths from heart disease. The goal is to find a practical way to manage chronic heart conditions in village communities.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a simple, community-based program of medication, lifestyle advice, and monitoring can greatly reduce heart problems in older adults.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be influenced by other factors. It is also limited to one region in China, so findings may not apply elsewhere.
