Botox and prostate surgery: a new combo for bladder control?

NCT ID NCT05878951

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding Botox injections into the bladder during standard prostate surgery (HoLEP) can better relieve overactive bladder symptoms like sudden urges and frequent urination. About 80 men aged 18-89 with these symptoms will be randomly assigned to get either Botox or a placebo during surgery. The goal is to see if the combination is safe and improves symptom control more than surgery alone.
