Doctors track bone strength in teens after drastic weight loss
NCT ID NCT02557438
Summary
This study aims to understand how two common types of weight-loss surgery affect bone density and strength in teenagers and young adults with severe obesity. Researchers are following 120 participants aged 13-21 for two years, comparing those who have surgery to a similar group who do not. The goal is to gather essential data on bone health changes to better inform future care for young people undergoing these procedures.
