First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether certain anesthesia drugs might stress the heart in breast cancer patients who had prior chemotherapy with anthracyclines (a type of chemo known to affect the heart). Researchers measured a heart stress marker called BNP before, during, and after surgery in 54 women. The goal was to see if there is a hidden heart problem that could be detected with a simple blood test.
