Does your weight determine your pain after back surgery?
NCT ID NCT06257953
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a person's body mass index (BMI) affects how well a nerve block controls pain after surgery for a slipped disc in the lower back. 75 adults having planned back surgery received the same pain-blocking injection, and their pain levels were measured in the first hours after surgery. The goal was to see if people with higher BMI feel more pain and need different pain management.
