Can blue light brighten new Mothers' moods?
NCT ID NCT06246214
Summary
This study is testing whether daily exposure to a special blue light can help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety in new mothers. Researchers will compare the blue light treatment against a dim placebo light in 50 women with postpartum depression, while also observing 100 healthy new mothers for comparison. The goal is to see if this simple, at-home light therapy can improve mood by helping to regulate the body's natural daily rhythms, which are often disrupted after childbirth.
