This study looks at whether standard blood tests can help doctors predict the outcome of a sudden worsening of COPD, known as an acute exacerbation. Researchers will examine red blood cell and platelet measurements from routine blood work in 50 hospitalized adults. The goal is to see if these simple, low-cost tests can identify patients at higher risk for severe complications, such as needing a breathing machine or intensive care.
