Simple blood test could spot dangerous nerve tumors sooner
NCT ID NCT06515860
Summary
This study is testing whether a 'liquid biopsy'—a simple blood test—can detect a dangerous type of nerve tumor (MPNST) earlier than current methods in adults with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). Researchers will follow 1,000 adults with NF1 for five years, collecting blood samples and health surveys every six months. The main goal is to see if the blood test finds the tumor sooner than standard scans and doctor exams, which could lead to better treatment options.
