Blood test may spare elderly fallers from unnecessary brain scans

NCT ID NCT07342023

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood test can detect brain bleeding in older adults (75+) who fall repeatedly. Instead of always using a CT scan, which can be hard to get quickly, researchers will measure two proteins in the blood. The goal is to see if this test is accurate enough to replace some CT scans, making care faster and easier for elderly patients.
