First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding a blood flow restriction (BFR) technique to standard physical therapy helps people recover better after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) knee surgery. Thirty adults aged 18-35 who had ACL reconstruction one week earlier took part. The goal was to see if BFR improves knee function, strength, balance, and reduces swelling compared to physical therapy alone.
