Light weights, big gains: new study tests blood flow trick for stronger arms
NCT ID NCT07462520
First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether using light weights with a blood flow restriction cuff can improve arm muscle strength as much as lifting heavy weights. Twenty-two healthy adults who already did resistance training took part. Over 7 weeks, one group used light weights with a cuff on their arm, while the other group lifted heavy weights. The goal was to see if the light-weight method could produce similar strength gains.
