Can a simple ultrasound spot hidden blood loss? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07207629
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at how giving blood changes the heart's pumping action, measured by ultrasound. Researchers want to see if these changes can help detect blood loss early in trauma patients. About 66 healthy adults will have heart ultrasounds before, right after, and 15 minutes after donating blood. The goal is to find a non-invasive way to spot dangerous bleeding sooner.
