Brain tumor patients get new hope to dodge deadly blood clots

Summary

This study is testing if the blood-thinning medication apixaban can safely prevent dangerous blood clots in people newly diagnosed with aggressive brain tumors (grade 4 glioma). It will involve about 40 adult patients who are starting radiation and chemotherapy. The main goal is to gather safety information, specifically checking for serious bleeding risks, while also seeing if the drug effectively prevents clots.
