New hope for blood cancer patients: gentler transplants from family donors

NCT ID NCT04191187

Summary

This study tested a less intense bone marrow transplant procedure for adults with various blood cancers who needed a transplant but did not have a fully matched donor. It used stem cells from a half-matched family member (like a parent, child, or sibling) after a milder pre-transplant treatment. The main goal was to see how many patients were alive and cancer-free 18 months after the transplant.
