Stroke study tracks brain barrier leaks over 6 years
NCT ID NCT03366129
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study followed 81 adults who had stroke-like symptoms to see if damage to the blood-brain barrier is linked to white matter changes in the brain that can cause mental decline. Participants had MRI scans and thinking tests over 6 years. The goal was to learn more about how these brain changes happen, not to test a new treatment.
