Blood vessel health markers may forecast heart risks after stenting

NCT ID NCT00725868

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study measured two types of cells in the blood that reflect blood vessel injury and healing. Researchers wanted to see if these cell counts could predict major heart problems like heart attack or death within 6 to 12 months after a stent procedure. The study involved 170 adults scheduled for a stent. The goal was to learn if these simple blood tests could help doctors identify patients at higher risk.
