First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study tests a new way to deliver trauma-focused therapy to teens with PTSD. It combines therapist-led video sessions with a mobile app for self-paced exercises. Researchers want to see if this blended approach is feasible and acceptable compared to standard therapy. About 40 teens in northern Sweden will take part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Blended Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Compassion (bTF-CBT-C)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a more accessible, app-supported therapy option for teens with PTSD.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply widely. The app-based format may not work for everyone.
