Brain injury ventilator trial aims to cut failed extubations

Summary
This study tests whether a simple clinical score can help doctors decide the best time to remove breathing tubes in brain-injured patients with impaired consciousness. About 660 adults on ventilators for over 48 hours will be enrolled. The goal is to reduce the need for re-intubation or death within 5 days after tube removal.
